With nearly 40 years varied experience in lighting, rigging and event production, I've been lucky enough to have been involved in a wide range of productions either at the design or production Lx level.

Starting out in theatre at HMT in Aberdeen, a move was made into touring, both theatre and music. LD duties for a diversity of acts ranging from the Supremes to Talking Heads. Relocating to London, a staff job as an LD & Production Manager at Theatre Projects Services allowed LD work on many different events such as Model of the Year, car launches for Ford, Fiat, Porche and GM, exhibitions in the V&A, The Royal College of Art and the Science Museum and conferences for IBM, the BMA and Wang Computers to name a few. A guest designer at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival. PLX work included Queen and Crystal Maze. Also a considerable number of Son et Lumiere type productions and architectural lighting.

Freelance work has been interspersed with spells as Technical or Production Manager in a number of venues such as the QE2 Conference Center ( TV & Conference ), Millenium Dome ( specialist rigging & aerial element design ), HMT in Aberdeen ( included a major technical refit ), Liverpool Empire Theatre and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow.

As an ex member of the British skydiving squad, I've lit a number of OBs involving freefalling cameramen, athletes and performers.
