The words 'dim' or 'minimal' do not do justice to her use of light. Working with her collaborator Marty Langthorne, she sculpts with light, and that sculpting shifts as the performance progresses. As the eyes of the spectator adjust to the textured lighting levels, they are able to make out more clearly how Davis manifests her presence in the space.
