Stage Electrics Supply ETC Gio to James Mitchell Events
Stage Electrics supplied an ETC Gio @5 Console to James Mitchell Events (JME) which is a Kent-based company offering production services for the education sector. With a pressing demand for a new lighting desk, that would meet the ever-changing needs of their busy schedule, James Mitchell Events turned to the UK’s largest ETC dealer, Stage Electrics, for guidance.
Paul Lucas, of Stage Electrics, commented: “It was apparent they needed a desk that was capable of handling shows of any size with ease,” Paul explained. “The ETC Gio @5 was perfect for them as it is compact, easy to move and set up, with plenty of DMX outputs and large channel count.”
“The suitability of the console quickly proved itself to the customer,” added Paul. “The ETC Gio @5 lighting console has exceeded my expectations and delivers everything required by my clients,” commented James Mitchell. “The console has all the buttons I am familiar with on the Eos family of consoles and the integrated touch screen makes using direct selects and moving light controls fast and effective.
“The five motorised faders are a great feature as you don’t need an external fader wing. This console is a great compromise between space and functionality; the main reason I went for the Gio@5 instead of the Gio.”
Bringing high-end control to venues with tighter spaces, the ETC Gio @5 has proved itself to JME to be perfect for easy transport and set-up. “The console has been on a number of shows since the purchase.” added James “The ease of set-up has been amazing, from the van to the production desk and then moved again to the control room.
“Our Gio @5 console has already been on several tours. Next season the console will be out for ‘My Fair Lady’ in Sevenoaks and ‘Blue Stockings’ in Maidstone and I’m sure will be in use during the Panto season.”
