London Stock Exchange names Hawthorn as Company that Inspires UK PLC

Each year the London Stock Exchange produces the ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2015’ report. The report is a celebration of the fastest growing and most dynamic small and medium enterprises that are the driving force behind the UK economy. The publication reports on inspiring companies in all sectors of UK PLC. This year, Hawthorn was named as one of the most inspiring companies in the Creative Industries sector.

This is great recognition for Hawthorn. Established nearly 30 years ago by Martin Hawthorn, the company has gone from strength to strength, providing technical production solutions to events, festivals, concerts and theatres across the UK and overseas. Hawthorn also works in major venues around the UK as a preferred technical supplier. The company has offices and studios in Cambridge, London and Old Dalby in Leicestershire, and employs over 130 people. Year-on-year the company has expanded, to the point that the London Stock Exchange now sees Hawthorn as one of the most inspiring companies in the United Kingdom.

Martin Hawthorn, managing director of Hawthorn, is proud of the Hawthorn team and the company’s trajectory, saying: "Hawthorn is honoured to be included in the London Stock Exchange's report. Being named as the only technical production company in the Creative Industries sector – as a company that inspires other creative businesses – is an accolade that the Hawthorn team has worked hard for. It’s not just about the large events we have worked on like the Coronation Festival Gala, the Moonwalks, BBC Worldwide Showcases and large festivals like the Hay and Edinburgh; it’s about providing creative solutions for the hundreds of smaller conferences, celebratory events and award ceremonies that our team have meticulously planned and produced. The attention to detail, quality of delivery and of course the creative design and technical implementation has accelerated our growth beyond the general economic trends in the UK economy".

Only one other event company – SMYLE – was included in the report.
