PRG at ‘Fast Forward’: Vauxhall UK Product Launch Programme
Launch events for the new Vauxhall Adam, Mokka and Cascada vehicles have been held at Five at Farnborough and Event City, next to Manchester’s Trafford Centre. The events attracted an audience of approximately 3,000 delegates from the Vauxhall network.
Working closely with Jeremy Garbett, project director and Nick Redman, senior producer at Deeper Blue, PRG lighting designer Neil Harvey and account director Dan Burgess supplied a comprehensive lighting design, video and LED package for these events.
Garbett commented: "PRG recently demonstrated their latest hard and software which helped to inspire us to design a very different set of powerful environments to truly engage increasingly more media savvy audiences. It was great to work with such dedicated professionals from PRG and the end result was superbly received."
There were four elements to the lighting design. Firstly the stage presentations and car reveals the circular hub / holding area and smaller breakout areas used for specific car demonstrations and product training. Neil used a mix of Alpha Spots 700, Clay Paky Sharpy’s, DB4 Color Blocks and GLP Impressions to enhance each car reveal and presentation.
LED screens featured throughout the car reveal and stage presentations and a central hub area. Dan supplied 14 PRG P30 curved screens in the Hub area as well as the main Barco C5 Wall. The content was pixel mapped and delivered via PRG’s MBOX Extreme media server. When the plenary was revealed the C5 wall tracked from the hub to its final stage position where it was flanked by a further 14 P30 screens that were flown vertically.
For the car reveals, lighting and video effects were programmed and created together to enhance the experience. During the plenary the screens were fed from a number of sources including MBOX, graphics and PlaybackPro. PRG also provided screens for each of the breakout areas.
John Nowell was the lighting crew chief and Martin Seymore programmed the show on a grand MA console. Pete Ewens and Peter Wilms managed the Video elements on site.
The events ran from November.6-30.
